KICKBOXING

"The Ultimate all round fitness regime"

As one of our most popular offerings, we recommend signing up for this course if your are looking for a fun and active fitness program. It caters to all ages and levels of fitness. It is a combination of several martial arts and a very effective training regime for fitness and self defense.

This course is taught by Mayukh Banerjee (Mike) and Sharanya Banerjee. Mayukh is a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach certified by NASM, USA and also a Karate / Kickboxing exponent of over 15 years. 

Our Instructors (National Champions / MMA Pro Fighters) also conduct one on one personal sessions. Contact us for available slots.

SHOTOKAN KARATE

"Twenty Precepts of Karate" - Gichin Funakoshi

Shotokan is one of the most popular styles of karate world-wide. Under WKA (World Karate Association), Shotokan is one of the 4 styles that will be introduced in 2020 Tokyo Olympics for the first time.

Shotokan Karate taught at our studio will lead you from white to black (shodan) belt. The course is conducted in accordance with Japan Karate Association syllabus. Shotokan kata's are a pleasure to watch due to their combination of grace and power. A true mind and body experience.

This course is supervised by Sensei Mayukh Banerjee, Sensei Gautam Mukherjee (Chief Instructor - Japan Karate Association WB) and Senpei Sharanya Banerjee.

Course Schedule:

Tuesday - 5:00pm - 6:00pm (Children)

Thursday - 7:00pm - 8:00pm 

Friday - 5:00pm - 6:00pm (Children)

Sunday - 7:00pm - 8:00pm (Adults & Children)

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

"Size does not matter - technique does"

This is a fun and dynamic course in grappling. It develops a high level of physical fitness as well as technical skill in ground fighting, takedowns, locks, holds, chokes and self defense. 

The philosophy of our training is size should not matter!


Each session ends in a round of sparring (rolling in BJJ terms) where theory is put into practice in a very safe, secure and risk free environment.

CALISTHENICS

"Complete Fitness"

Calisthenics  is a form of strength training consisting of a variety of movements that exercise large muscle groups (gross motor movements), such as running, standing, grasping, pushing, etc. These exercises are often performed rhythmically and with minimal equipment, as bodyweight exercises. They are intended to increase strength, fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling, pushing, bending, jumping, or swinging, using one's body weight for resistance. Calisthenics can provide the benefits of muscular and aerobic conditioning, in addition to improving psychomotor skills such as balance, agility, and coordination.

Military across the world utilizes calisthenics training of various intensity for the agility, strength and endurance of their soldiers.

Wednesday - 7:30am - 8:30am

Training is conducted both online and offline.

MMA FITNESS

"Core Strength & Conditioning"

Through this course, students have the opportunity to push their skills, techniques and confidence to a new level in a fun, dynamic way. It includes elements of flexibility training, cardio, core strength development, HIIT, cross-fit and weight training.

This program is integrated into our Kickboxing Curriculum to generate maximum effect. Hence, it comes totally free for everyone enrolling into our Kickboxing Curriculum!!

Functional Fitness at its Best!!

Our fully equipped gym supports all your fitness needs. We give you a personalized exercise experience. 

The training for each participant is individually designed by Mike who is an ACE Approved Personal Trainer (Certificate No T255884  Verification Link: https://www.acefitness.org/btob/verify-cert-number.aspx) and followed up by any one of our certified fitness coaches.


We also specialize in functional fitness and body weight training. 

Our personalized training system will ensure that you are able to carry out your "Activities of Daily Living" smoothly, while at the same time loose weight and gain strength and endurance.

KYOKUSHIN KARATE

"The path to the ultimate truth"

Kyokushin Karate is widely regarded as the strongest form of full contact karate in the world.

Our training follows the traditional format and develops a strong body, strong mind and a strong spirit. Due to the nature of training and contact sparring, it bears a close resemblance to actual combat and is an excellent self defence system.

We are affiliated to IKO Matsushima, Japan. Our training starts from white belt and with time, patience and practice will take you to Black Belt and beyond.

Wednesday: 6:30PM to 7:30PM
Saturday: 6:30PM to 7:30PM

SENIOR FITNESS

Who says the aged cannot exercise?

This is a great class for seniors to get functionally fit.

We take you through a stretching and flexbility workout, followed by strength training and then various drills that will enhance your mobility and core strength.

This class is presently conducted online, but option exists to come down and train at our gym.

ABOUT MIKE'S MARTIAL ARTS & FITNESS STUDIO

Mike's Martial Arts is the brain child of Mayukh Banerjee and Sharanya Banerjee. Mayukh (aka Mike) is an accomplished martial artist and coach of many years. Having studied several martial arts, Mike wanted to set up a school that would teach  diverse martial arts all under one roof, always maintaining the highest possible standards of training. The idea being that people interested in the pursuit of martial arts may choose the discipline that suits them the most.


It goes without saying that for mental and physical health, there is no other complete program like the pursuit of martial arts. The added benefit is also knowledge of self defense and development of strength of character.


Since our founding, Mike's Martial Arts & Fitness Studio has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundation skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey.


Slowly becoming known as the best Martial Arts School in the Kolkata area, we provide a wide range of courses to support students from all backgrounds and levels.

We also conduct completely free martial arts training programs for underprivileged children. The primary intention of these courses being to ingrain a sense of discipline, fairplay, honesty and strength of character among them.

I visit Calcutta twice a year, and because I am a fitness enthusiast, I ensure that I don't miss out on my workouts. I was introduced to Kyokushin Karate by my childhood friend and now Sensei Mayukh Banerjee (Mike), who currently runs and manages Mike's Martial Arts. To be honest after my initial stint of Kyokushin in my school days, I feel Mike's Martial Arts offers the best Kyokushin Training In Calcutta and if not the western region of Mumbai. Sensei Mayukh has evolved this martial art into greater heights by ensuring his students get a feel of skill, strength and endurance. He and his team have continuously progressed by using modern techniques including strength and conditioning workouts which build your strength in the concerned martial art. I also learnt kickboxing from Babu Biswas (current black belt in Kyokushin). His training methods challenged me and ensured that I return a fitter person in just two weeks of training. Mike has also taken a step forward in kickboxing as well. I urge fellow Calcuttan's to join Mikes Martial Arts if you wish to challenge go up in life. Osu!
